Thankfulness is a skill we learn best by seeing it modeled. I’m grateful to have grown-up hearing the words “thank you” continually. I saw my Mother and Grandmother often writing lovely thank you notes. Even when things were difficult, they still gave thanks to God because they believed Our Heavenly Father loves His children and good gifts come from Him. It was easy to learn the art of gratitude in my home. God had a great plan when He led me into Prison Ministry. I learned along with incarcerated women to genuinely say “Thank You, Jesus” for everything. I witnessed miracles of God’s Grace and saw vivid proof of His love!
Last month, Grads Dina and Suzy from my VSPW Leadership Class, came to my Church and gave testimonies of God’s faithfulness in their lives. It brought us all memories of the story of Joseph.
Genesis 50:20 “You thought evil against me, but God meant it unto good…to save much people alive.”
May we be aware of opportunities to say ”thank you” to others today, and be thankful to God as we watch Him turn our difficulties into good… in His time.
