God is always speaking to His children. He wants us to trust His Word. It is His desire we experience VICTORY in our daily lives, regardless of our circumstances or age. His Voice often comes through songs and sermons.
Lately, we’ve been challenged from the Book of Joshua to possess our promised land. We want to proclaim, “Give me my mountain!” But…are we ready to conquer GIANTS there?
Anything that intimidates us can be a giant in our life. They can suddenly appear, or can threaten us for years. We can either face them and grow stronger, or back away and not go forward. They can be spiritual, emotional, or even an attitude. We must be confident in God’s ability to defeat them…NOT in man’s power.
Past experiences can help defeat giants. Let us learn to rehearse past victories! What Promise did God say to you? What Scripture helped you? Learn to resist the enemy with God’s Word in the small things of life…and he will flee! James 4:7
The Word of God is always our best WEAPON because JESUS IS THE WORD! David chose 5 stones. Maybe he thought, “He is so big that I can’t miss him.” Maybe he intended to just keep “slinging stones” until the giant was defeated. Whatever his reason, he prepared to use the weapon that always worked before. Keep speaking God’s Promises and DO NOT quit…until we SEE the giant defeated.
Let us choose our scripture-stones to hurl at the giants facing us today, and boldly declare “Yes, Lord! Give me my mountain!” Let us march around our Jericho walls, expecting them to fall, as we bravely proclaim the lyrics of an old familiar Hymn, “Though the Blood of Jesus, Victory ahead!”
