“Thy shoes shall be iron and brass, and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.” Deuteronomy 33:25
“Recently I spent two weeks in a REHAB in Irvine, California. God taught me fresh, NEW lessons on a Truth I thought I understood. This place became a “Mission-field”. I played piano 6 times for a Rehab-Patient-Audience. When I played worship songs, I said “God loves each one of you”. (I have been invited back:)
One day, while talking to the Lord about my depressive Medical Report, I felt I heard Jesus say, “And WHOSE report will you believe, Earlene?”
I recalled the song we sang in prison “We will believe the REPORT of the Lord.”
I replied, “Lord, I’ve always believed Your report is YOUR Word…YOUR Promises.”
Immediately I heard, “And what PROMISE did YOU always claim as you traveled up and down the highways to the prisons?”
I realized I quoted the same verse my grandmother did all her life: “As thy days, so shall thy strength be.” I EXPECTED God to give me HIS strength…and He did.
When I located that Scripture, I discovered something interesting. I was ONLY quoting the LAST PART of a Promise given to a tribe of Israel BEFORE they walked into Canaan. I discovered God promised to equip them supernaturally FIRST. He would give them SHOES of IRON and BRASS…for strength to walk each day!
As I began to understand HIS complete Word, I felt VICTORY…and excitement! I found a little “bronze baby shoe” my mother had saved, and placed it in plain sight as a reminder for me. Now I start each day with a prayer: “Thank you, Lord, for helping me walk in YOUR SHOES of iron and brass. I can do ALL that You have asked me to do…in YOUR strength.”
I encourage you to “recall and re-apply” HIS PROMISES given to you. God wants us to walk together into MIRACLES for a time such as this.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
