GIVING THANKS IN THE FIRE November 2023

“But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corinthians 15:57)

It is Thanksgiving Season again! It may be difficult to thank God for anything when people are walking through such hard places. But there is one truth for which we can ALWAYS be thankful… Jesus walks through the fire with us. In the hard places, He covers us with fireproof protection of HIMSELF.

Isaiah 43:2 “When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you. For I am the Lord, thy God…”

On August 2, a severe arthritis attack caused me to fall beside my bed.  While I lay there with questions racing in my mind, I felt Jesus say, “I know what I’m doing. I have miracles ahead.” Through all the hospital tests, I held tightly to those Words. When no physical problems were found, doctors sent me to a “5 Star REHAB” to improve my weak right leg. God already had a plan! When the Physical Therapy Director learned I was a pianist, she decided I would play the PIANO for fifteen minutes as ONE Therapy session! I was wheeled into the activity room for an audience of patients in wheelchairs! I played songs from musicals, old hymns, worship songs, even a German song by request.

Each day the audience grew, so I played six of the 10 days in REHAB.  As painful as the other Walking-Sessions were, God had prepared some spiritual exercises with miracles waiting! I felt the same anointing as the early years of playing a piano in prison chapels. Jesus was there to bring peace, comfort, and healing. Before going home, the Director read my new book The Higher Call and placed it in their Library. I personally gave a few nurses and Chaplain copies, believing God still has miracles ahead for us all.

I pray my story helps you trust Jesus more as you walk with Him in hard places. Remember that God may have unexpected miracles waiting there!
