White blossoms appear on trees, Spring will be early, and we will celebrate Resurrection Sunday at the end of March. I love spring time! God also wants to bring “Spring time” to our heart. This happens when we apply a precious truth we have shared inside prisons since 1984. It is called… the power of forgiveness.
God taught me a spiritual lesson by a Second Grader during my first teaching job. The little boy stood before my desk with a look of apprehension on his face. He held up a sheet of paper and asked the same question for a third time that day. “Mrs. Leming, can I please have a clean piece of paper?”
I noticed the paper was torn from erasing too much! I gave him another one and watched as he happily returned to his seat. I heard the Lord say “Do you realize I will GIVE YOU a clean, fresh paper any time? All you need to do is ASK ME.”
When God forgives us, He literally cuts offenses from us. When we learn to forgive others, the Blood of Jesus becomes a protective wall around us. Satan CANNOT break through the Blood. I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
If we cling to offenses by talking or thinking of them, we give satan a legal right to enter our lives. This evil plan is to steal, kill, and destroy though bitterness, anger, and emotional wounds. Jesus came to give us an abundant life by healing us.
Matthew 6:14,15: “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Like the little boy, we cannot erase away our daily mistakes and sins. but we can boldly ASK our Heavenly Teacher for a fresh, clean piece of paper. Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health unto you, and heal you of your wounds.
