God wants us to experience VICTORY in our daily lives. Like Joshua and Caleb, we’re able to possess our promised land by saying, “Give me my mountain!” But…are we ready to conquer GIANTS there?
Anything that intimidates us can be a giant. It can appear suddenly, or threaten us for years. We either face it and get stronger, or back away and NOT go forward. Giants can be spiritual, emotional, or even be an attitude. We must trust in God’s ability to defeat them…NOT our ability!
1 Samuel 17:37 David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.
1 Samuel 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
When David faced the giant, he chose five smooth stones as his weapon. Maybe he thought, “He is so big that I can’t miss him. I’ll just keep slinging stones until he is defeated!”Whatever his reason, David prepared to use the weapon that always worked before. The Word of God is our best weapon. Let us select “stones” to hurl at the enemy…and DO NOT QUIT declaring His Promises. Weshallsee the giants defeated by His Word. We shall see victory, and have our promised mountain!
These are “slinging stones” to use:
Luke 1:37: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.”
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.”
II Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirt of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind.”
Exodus 15:26 “I am the God that healeth thee.”
Psalm 91:10-11 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thy dwelling place; for He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.”
Psalm 103:1-5 “Bless the Lord…who forgives all my sins, who heals all my diseases, who fills my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed as the eagles.”
