I prayed earnestly for “the children” as they passed my window with new clothes and back-packs. Summer was over. School had begun. As I recalled MY school days, I knew what they would face. God gave me a fresh Prayer-Assignment…PLUS a new Lesson to share! Our Heavenly Father desires to make HIS children MORE like Jesus. He provides the right Education for us.
Sometimes we ask “Lord, WHY this… now?” Let us consider the Eagle story with an answer from Deuteronomy 32:11-12 NASB 11 As an eagle stirs up its nest, and hovers over its young, He spread His wings, He caught them, He carried them on His pinions.12 The Lord alone guided him…”
The eaglet is NOT aware of the value of what he is learning. He only knows it is HARD. But Mother eagle says it is TIME to FLY! She wildly squawks and jumps around the nest, removing soft feathers and special objects which the baby eagle has enjoyed. She leaves ONLY sticks and stones. This forces the scared eaglet to cling desperately to the very edge of the nest. She SEES ahead and knows he will need balance to learn how to fly. She knows he must have strong talons to learn how to find his own food. It is “time for school”!
We rarely understand the value of our Education until our Education is over. The difficulties in life can become easier when we realize God SEES our weak areas, and prepares us forHIS good plans ahead. Perhaps we should SEE those hard places as “GOD’S EXERCISE ROOM” to make strong, courageous children of God.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Psalms 40:31 But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
