Ephesians 1:11-12 and Jeremiah 29:11 are reminders that we are God’s workmanship and created for good works. No matter your age today, He has good plans for YOU. He has given you a purpose (work) to discover and develop in your life on earth. He continually delights in giving you “new assignments.” It is never too late to identify them and begin doing them.
To help IDENTIFY God’s plans & abilities in you, ask yourself these questions: What is my passion? What gives me fulfillment and the most satisfaction? Example: Drawing, writing, sewing, singing, organizing, building, creating things/crafts? Then ask God to show you HOW TO prepare & develop YOUR purpose and ability.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…” DO NOT be in too great a hurry. The length of life’s candle is measured according to the length of a required task. God KNOWS the number of our days (Exodus 32). These principles also apply to our PRAYERS!
DO NOT give up. Trials, difficulties & sorrows are only for a time, having their seasons, and then they pass. It is not always winter. God puts bright and beautiful things in our lives which we should not be afraid to enjoy! We often strain our eyes searching for a distant spot on the horizon and miss the flowers along the path we walk (Romans 8:28, Hebrews 6:12-15).
God NEVER forgets a Promise. IF it is HIS plan, He allows life to have its seasons. During long seasons, let us ASK GOD: “What am I supposed to learn?” “What do YOU have for ME here?” Other lives may be involved and it is not just “about ME.” Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.
GOD’S DELAYS ARE NOT DENIALS. The Bible has many examples of this divine method. Sometimes we misinterpret God’s dealings with us. Remember Mary & Martha weeping over their brother’s death? They were disappointed because Jesus did not come to heal His friend. But, Jesus had a MIRACLE planned. Can we trust Him? He could be clearing the way for a miracle (Romans 4:17, Isaiah 40:29)!
“DIS-appointments often turn out to be GOD’S appointments.” Learn to TALK about it with Jesus as you WAIT for Him. DO NOT murmur or complain (Philippians 2:14)! This opens the door for the enemy to discourage and hinder you. Keep praising God for bringing the answer, dream or vision to pass (Habakkuk 2:1).
