In the 1950’s, God provided a delightful job to earn my CSULB Tuition. I was the Supervisor on an Afterschool Playground and learned to organize activities and sports for Elementary children. Although I knew this would later benefit me as a teacher, I discovered God had unique “life lessons” to help me for years ahead. MARCH was a favorite month for kids and adults because of the “Kite Contests”! How exciting to see beautiful Kites FLYING high above the school, and know EACH participant went home happy…because they WON A PRIZE!
There are spiritual truths in this story and I have chosen one about God’s purpose of FLYING. He has good plans to fulfill in our lives, but He knows we must learn HOW TO TRUST HIM. He wants to teach us HOW TO FLY above the problems!
Deuteronomy 32:11 “As an eagle stirs up her nest and flutters over her young, spreads abroad her wings, takes them, bears them on wings, so the Lord alone did lead him”.

Learning to fly is frightening at first! The mother eagle begins with baby eaglet on her back, but soon abruptly dives, hurling her young into the air. The little bird struggles frantically and plummets toward the earth. At the last moment, mother eagle swoops under her eaglet, breaking his fall, and rescues him as he lands again on her back. She REPEATS the process until the little bird discovers the thrill of flying and learns to take-off on its own
Luke 1:37 “For with God, nothing shall be impossible.”
Psalm 103:1-5 “Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Who forgives all my sins, Who heals all my diseases, Who redeems my life from destruction, Who crowns me with loving kindness and tender mercies, Who fills my mouth with good things so that my youth is renewed as the eagles.”
Jesus will carry us on “HIS WINGS” of Promises.
SPEAK HIS WORD and START FLYING!
